At Morris and Berger, a team approach to the search process ensures
optimum responsiveness to our clients' needs. Our seasoned staff of
nine -- including research and support staff -- is comprised of
knowledgeable and resourceful professionals who are deeply committed to
helping nonprofit organizations find the leaders who will add
significant value to their future.

"My entire career has been devoted to serving the nonprofit sector.
There is a wonderful satisfaction that comes from enhancing the success
of our nonprofit clients."
Jay entered executive search in 1986 after serving for 17 distinguished
years at the University of Southern California -- first, as Director of
Admissions and later as Assistant Vice President for Development. He
also earned his Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the
university. Many of the skills Jay acquired while working at USC --
interviewing and assessing applicants, strategizing to enhance the
university's applicant pool, facilitating the cultivation and
stewardship of donors -- serve him well in his current role.
Jay's first experience as a volunteer occurred when he was 14
years old, on the heels of competing as a swimmer in the Junior
Olympics. Asked to teach a group of developmentally disabled adults how
to swim, he got tremendous satisfaction from the experience -- and a
volunteer was born. Since that time, Jay has spent countless hours
volunteering his time, including serving as chair of the board of
directors of Hathaway-Sycamore Children's Services, The Chandler School
and Flintridge Preparatory School; on the board of directors of
Covenant House, California, and California Association of Independent
Schools; on the founding board of directors of Pasadena Pops; and on
the board of councilors of USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. |

"I tend to see the best in people and believe that those who are
committed to the nonprofit sector genuinely want to make the world a
better place."
A community-minded volunteer with an innate curiosity about people,
Karin is extremely well-suited to leading searches for the nonprofit
sector. Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Karin graduated from
the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked at Stanford University's
Graduate School of Business in Alumni Relations; the University of
California, Berkeley, in Development; and as Director of Development
for the Libraries at the University of Southern California. While at
USC, Karin completed her Masters in Public Administration with an
emphasis in nonprofit management. She joined Morris & Berger in
2001.
Even as a busy professional with two young children, Karin is
still an active volunteer, currently serving as Chair of the Alumni
Board for the School of Policy Planning and Development at USC and as
an interviewer for the University of Pennsylvania. |

"The work we do in the nonprofit sector is all about building
organizational and leadership capacity, enhancing bonds of cohesion and
mutuality of effort, and connecting caring to communities. I feel
deeply privileged to work in service to a sector that is fundamentally
about the articulation of freedom."
Before focusing her interests on executive search in 1983, Kristine
enjoyed a successful career in the nonprofit sector, including serving
as Associate Director of Alumni Relations at her alma mater, Occidental
College. Her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication to a
challenge might best be exemplified by owning and operating a 32-foot
commercial fishing boat out of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf during
her college years -- and being one of only two women on the Pacific
coast to do so at the time.
Kristine's personal commitment to volunteerism and working for
the common good was developed at an early age through family
discussions and practices that made a deep impact upon her. She has
been a vigorous volunteer and community leader throughout her life,
serving on the board of directors of the United Way, Los Angeles; the
board of directors of the American Red Cross, Los Angeles; as a trustee
of Occidental College; and in numerous other capacities. |

Before making a career in executive search, Molly traveled extensively in Asia as General Manager of the Asian Dreams outbound tour division of Jetour USA, a wholesale tour operator specializing in group and independent travel to the Orient and Southeast Asia. She was also a consultant for Singapore Airlines when it opened its own outbound tour division, assisting in product development, automation and staff training.
Molly attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She dedicates much of her free time to volunteer activities at Flintridge Preparatory School, where her husband serves as Headmaster. |

"It is inspiring to meet and work with powerful leaders and organizations in the nonprofit world. Even more fulfilling is the fact that our firm plays a key role in helping place such visionary leaders with the organizations that need them."
Prior to joining Morris & Berger, Sevana spent some time in the private sector, working in the advertising and marketing industries. She worked in campaign and product development for a number of Procter & Gamble brands. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Sevana transitioned to the tourism industry where she began working in sponsorship. She managed sponsor accounts such as American Express, American Airlines, See's Candies, Universal Studios Hollywood, Wells Fargo and Wicked. Eager to make a transition to focus on nonprofit clients, she joined Morris & Berger in 2008.
Sevana was born and raised in Texas and attended The University of Texas in Austin. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters in Public Administration. A firm believer in giving back, Sevana is actively engaged in volunteer activities with the Armenian community and with local Los Angeles area nonprofits.
